Daryl Beall is a longtime resident of Fort Dodge and was elected to his second term in the Iowa Senate in 2006. He represents District 25, which includes all of Calhoun and Greene counties and most of Webster County.
Born in Fort Dodge and raised in the Calhoun County town of Somers, Beall earned his Associate of Arts degree at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, and his Master of Arts degree in Public Policy from Drake University in Des Moines.
An active member of the Fort Dodge community, Daryl has served as the president of the Downtown Retailers Association and the Interfaith Forum, has been a member of the Fort Dodge Kiwanis, Izaak Walton League and Chamber of Commerce, and has served on the Child Abuse Council, the Arts Council, Partners in Tourism, the Fort Dodge School Board, the Fort Dodge Economic Development Board, Habitat for Humanity, the Disabilities Alliance, and the Diversity Team.
Prior to his election to the Senate, Daryl held a number of positions in a variety of professions. During his career, he has taught political science at Urbandale High School, managed the family furniture business in Fort Dodge, written as a columnist for several newspapers and served as the marketing director for the Fort Dodge Messenger.
Daryl and his wife, Jo Ann, have three children and eight grandchildren.
